In 2017, dotdigital acquired Comapi, a business messaging platform. Previously known as dotmailer, in 2018 the platform was rebranded dotdigital.

Products and services
dotdigital Engagement Cloud includes advanced features and email marketing tools, with a fundamental difference. Each one is built around technology that makes advanced tasks extraordinarily fast and easy to perform.
Drag-and-drop email creation tool empowering marketers to build stunning branded templates without the need to code. From easy, responsive email templates to smart dynamic content, users can drive relevance and engagement in every single campaign.
Onminchannel Marketing automation:
Drag-and-drop automation program tool where users can build out their customer journeys using an array of channels and triggers. It’s super-easy for teams to set their criteria and enroll/disenrol customers depending on their behaviors and engagements.
dotdigital users can build data-driven marketing programs – from scratch or from pre-built templates – to complement the customer lifecycle. Options include: welcome series, post-purchase program, nurture campaigns, abandoned browse & cart, plus many, many more.
Data segmentation and Personalisation:
Segment Builder allows users to query and filter customer data at scale. From preferences to online behaviors and purchase history, it’s simple to create highly targeted segments and send hyper-relevant messages that spur action.
Within dotdigital, eCommerce merchants can view their customers grouped into personas based on recency, frequency, and monetary (RFM) purchase criteria. This helps them tailor the messaging per customer group, graduating customers from one to the next (i.e. from ‘need nurturing’ to ‘promising’, ‘loyal’ to ‘champion’’). Plus, with retail and customer dashboards, users can view key eCommerce metrics like average order value.
To complement integrations with Microsoft Dynamics and Salesforce, dotdigital has several CRM features in the platform that help users target leads, prospects, and customers more effectively. Contact scoring, for instance, grades contacts depending on their levels of engagement. Likewise, web behavioral tracking helps identify specific actions and high-intent activity. Both can be used with Segment Builder to pool engaged user or customer groups.
