Webinars

Webinars are a paid add-on for the Email Marketing package. You can hold webinars for $40/month (100 attendees) or $99/month (500 attendees).  Go to Billing > My add-ons to enable it.

Team

With the Team add-on you can add 5 more users to your Marketing Automation or Ecommerce Marketing plans. It costs $20/month for those first 5 users. Once you enable the add-on, you can add users for $5 each. Head to Billing > My add-ons to enable it.

AI Recommendations

The GetResponse AI engine shows customers dynamic product recommendations with the highest chance of a conversion. It matches the recommendations to your customers’ preferences, purchase history, and browsing behavior.

It works on GetResponse websites too. You can create dynamic recommendation sliders on your homepage, product, and category pages. These sliders can display:

  • Rule-based recommendations
  • Most viewed products in a category
  • Bestsellers in a category
  • Bestsellers in the store
  • Most similar in a category

Explaining GetResponse pricing plans: contacts, newsletters, landing pages, autoresponder, automation

Before choosing a GetResponse plan, it’s best to understand which factors influence pricing. It’s the only way to find the most suitable plan without going over your budget. Here’s a breakdown of what influences GetResponse pricing. Check out our full GetResponse review with all the features, pros, and cons.

Contacts

Contacts are active subscribers on your lists. GetResponse doesn’t charge for unsubscribes, deleted email addresses, or bounces. If an email address is assigned to multiple lists, it counts as multiple contacts. Email Marketing, Marketing Automation, and Ecommerce Marketing have 7 contact tiers.

You’re charged based on the highest number of active subscribers during the billing month. When your contact number reaches the next tier during the month, you will be charged at the higher tier.

Contact number is the primary pricing factor that determines how much you pay.

Plans

Email Marketing, Marketing Automation and Ecommerce Marketing unlock different GetResponse features.

Email Marketing has basic automations like birthday, welcome, and thank you emails. You can use email templates, forms, and popups. Plus you get unlimited landing pages, basic segmentation, website builder, and live chat.

Marketing Automation includes the automation workflow builder, advanced segmentation, contact tagging, and funnels. You get webinars (100 attendees), 5 websites, and 3 users.

Ecommerce Marketing adds abandoned cart campaigns, product recommendations, ecommerce based segmentation, revenue reports, webinars (300 attendees), 5 websites, and 5 user seats.

With MAX plans, you get an Onboarding Manager, Customer Experience Engineer, phone, and Slack support. You have your dedicated IP address and access to multiple accounts and users. Transactional emails and SMS marketing automation also come with MAX plans.

Plans are the second most important factor in the cost of GetResponse.

Automation

GetResponse has powerful automations. You can automatically segment contacts based on their engagement. Then send them different messages based on that. Here are some of the conditions to segment contacts with automations:

  • Link clicked
  • Visited URL
  • Message opened
  • Landing page visited
  • Score given
  • Tag assigned
  • Purchase
  • Abandoned cart

Email Marketing only has welcome, thank-you, and birthday emails. You can’t build a workflow from scratch.

The Marketing Automation package includes all the features in Email Marketing and:

  • Automations from scratch
  • Drip campaigns
  • Click & open follow-ups
  • Contact tagging
  • Contact scoring
  • Visited URL automation
  • Event-based automation
  • Send push notification (limited)
  • Split automation
  • Dynamic segmentation

But Marketing Automation doesn’t grant access to purchase automation or abandoned cart triggers.

With Ecommerce Marketing, you add a few automations to what’s included in Marketing Automation:

  • Abandoned cart triggers
  • Unlimited push notifications
  • Purchase automation

MAX2 is the only GetResponse plan with SMS marketing automation. You get 5000 free SMS, bulk sending, and personalization tools.

Autoresponders

Autoresponders are messages sent automatically in a sequence or at intervals. Creating an autoresponder means setting up several messages to go out after another.

The free version doesn’t include any autoresponder function. Email Marketing has welcome emails and autoresponder series. It doesn’t include Ecommerce Tracking and Time Travel.

Ecommerce Tracking allows you to follow what contacts do on your website after clicking a link in an email. Time Travel automatically sends out messages according to the local time of your contacts.

Ecommerce Tracking is available on Ecommerce Marketing and MAX2. While Time Travel is only included in Marketing Automation and above.

Landing pages

With the free version you can create and publish 1 landing page. And the unique visits are limited to 1000. Once you reach 1000 unique visitors, your page won’t be available online.

Paid packages don’t limit unique visits and unlock A/B tests for landing pages. You can create as many landing pages as you want under any paid GetResponse plan.

Newsletters

GetResponse’s forever-free plan includes 2500 newsletters for 500 contacts. If you’re only occasionally sending newsletters to a small audience, the free package can sort it out. To send unlimited newsletters to larger audiences, you’ll have to upgrade to a paid plan.

Is GetResponse free?

GetResponse has a free forever plan to get your business online. Here’s what you get for free:

  • Contacts: 500
  • Monthly newsletters: 2500
  • Website: 1 website with 5 GB bandwidth
  • Landing Pages: 1 for 1000 unique visitors
  • Forms and 1 popup

For the first 30 days of your free plan you can also try the premium features. GetResponse free trial limitations are:

  • Webinars limited to 10 attendees (including the host and presenters)
  • You can’t remove GetResponse branding from emails
  • 1 landing page, unique page visitors capped at 1000
  • No dynamic segment filtering while building workflows
  • Chats can be added to 1 landing page

It’s ideal for businesses who’re just starting online. You can truly understand which features you need.

Here’s how GetResponse Email Marketing and Hubspot Marketing prices compare:

how GetResponse email marketing and Hubspot marketing prices compare

Hubspot’s Marketing Hub is an all-in-one marketing platform. It’s part of the complete Hubspot CRM platform. The Starter plan has email automation, forms, landing pages, live chat, and Facebook, Google, and Linkedin ads.

Marketing automation, SEO tools, lead scoring, AB testing, and social media management are locked behind the Professional Plan.

Overall, Hubspot Marketing Hub is the better option if you want to manage all inbound marketing activities from one platform. But it’s expensive for small and mid-sized businesses.

GetResponse has a limited CRM functionality compared to Hubspot. But it’s the price/performance winner. All GetResponse paid plans are much more affordable with similar functionality. Check out Hubspot alternatives for more similar tools.

GetResponse Pricing vs MailerLite

MailerLite is a simple and affordable email marketing software. It comes with 2 plans:

  • Growing Business: from $10/month
  • Advanced: from $21/month
Number of contactsGetResponse Email Marketing MailerLite Growing Business
1000$19$10
2500$29$17
5000$54$32
10K$79$54
25K$174$139

MailerLite is visibly cheaper than GetResponse. And MailerLite’s basic plan comes with more advanced automations compared to GetResponse Email Marketing. Only Welcome, Thank You and Birthday emails are available in GetResponse’s basic plan.

Mailerlite’s Growing Business also lets you build automations from scratch. But you can’t activate multiple automation triggers. Websites and blogs are unlimited.

If you want to build automations, websites, and blogs for less cash, MailerLite is a better option. Check out our full MailerLite review to learn more about features, pros and cons. Or read more about MailerLite pricing here.

GetResponse has more advanced email automation features in the Marketing Automation plan. You get conversion funnels, live chat, paid ads, webinars, and 24/7 support.

GetResponse Pricing vs ActiveCampaign

ActiveCampaign is an advanced email marketing platform that offers a single Marketing package:

  • Starter: from $15/month
  • Plus: from $49/month
  • Pro: from $79/month
  • Enterprise: from $145/month
Number of contactsGetResponse Email Marketing ActiveCampaign Starter
1000$19$15
2500$29$39
5000$54$79
10K$79$149
25K$174NA

ActiveCampaign is a popular marketing automation platform with advanced automation, CRM, and sales tools.

ActiveCampaign has 870+ integrations in all plans. But the starting plan only includes basic automations and core email marketing tools. It’s still more expensive than GetResponse Email Marketing.

GetResponse is the more cost-effective option with almost the same features. Small and mid-size businesses can afford GetResponse even when their lists grow. GetResponse’s Ecommerce Marketing comes at $163/month for 10K subscribers. ActiveCampaign’s Pro Plan costs $375/month for comparison. Check our full ActiveCampaign review about features, pros, and cons.

GetResponse Pricing vs Mailchimp

Mailchimp is a very popular email marketing platform. It has 3 marketing plans:

  • Essentials: from $11/month
  • Standard: from $17/month
  • Premium: from $299/month
Number of contactsGetResponse Email Marketing Mailchimp Essentials
2500$29$39.50
5000$54$69
10K$79$100
25K$174$260

Essentials is a very generous starting plan offering 3 users, 24/7 email & chat support, basic reporting, automated customer journeys, forms, and landing pages. A major limitation to Essentials is the monthly sending limit. It’s capped at 10x your plan’s contact limit.

With the Standard plan, you get everything in Essentials plus pre-built journeys, predictive segmentation, and dynamic content. You have 5-user access, and the monthly email send is capped at 12x your plan’s contact limit. For 10K subscribers, the Standard costs $115/month. And you’re only allowed to send 120K emails every month. While GetResponse doesn’t limit monthly sending. And its second-best plan costs $93 for 10K contacts.

Overall, GetResponse is the more affordable option with stronger features for small and large businesses. Because eventually, you’ll exceed the monthly sending limit. Compare more Mailchimp alternatives here.

So which GetResponse pricing plan should you pick?

Email Marketing is a great start for list building, newsletters, and basic automations. It’s a great choice for businesses getting started with email marketing. For multi-user access and webinars, you can purchase an add-on.

Marketing Automation is the ideal plan for SMBs looking for more advanced marketing automation. It’ll help you scale your business with automated workflows that react to your customers’ actions 24/7 using email, webinars, and live chats. Webinars for 100 attendees and multi-user access (3 users) are included.

Ecommerce Marketing features are designed to grow your customers-base and turn one-time buyers into loyal customers via channels like email, push notifications, webinars, and live chats. 5 members of your team can access your GetResponse account, and you can hold webinars for 300 attendees.

When choosing a plan, consider:

  • The number of contacts in your lists
  • If you need webinar and multi-user access
  • If you want to use multiple triggers in workflow automations
  • If ecommerce targeting and reporting tools are necessary
