With MailChimp v9.5 the Autoresponder campaigns have been replaced by Automation Workflows. In their newest version the team improved and added new marketing automation features. Marketers can see aggregate reports for your entire workflow, as well as individual reports for each email in a series. It allows more precise send time scheduling and drag-and-drop ordering.
MailChimp Automation Workflows
Autoresponder campaigns have been replaced by workflows. Campaigns like setting up a welcome series for new subscribers or sending product follow-up emails are pre-built automated series to cover cover common scenarios. They allow Mailchimp users to create a single email or a grouped series of messages and send automatically based on a specific trigger.
These workflows scenarios are most useful for starting email marketers, or if a marketer wants to perform one of the outlined tasks without starting from scratch. For other automation needs custom workflows can be used.
Mailchimp workflow aggregated Reporting
Marketers can aggregate reports for their entire workflow, as well as individual reports for each email in a series.
The Mailchimp workflow aggregated Reports will show:
- Queued subscribers, subscribers completed, and emails sent.
- Average open and click rates across all emails,
- Total number of emails sent by month
- Number of subscribers are added to the series over time, and more.
The reports for individual messages in the series are similar to regular campaigns, and also have the reporting earlier seen like geolocation data and e-commerce conversions.
Automation Workflow Send time and order
Automation workflow options allow precise send time scheduling and drag-and-drop ordering.
A marketer can now define when their automated emails are send. Set messages to go out instantly, on certain days of the week, after a subscriber meets certain conditions on your website, or based on any other triggering event. They can view the flow of email messages, arrange their send order, and set a time delay between emails.
Availability
The Workflow Automation features are available at this time for all paid accounts. Marketers that have autoresponders set up on their Mailchimp account, can find them on the automation dashboard and convert these autoresponders to workflows. Read more in our review of Mailchimp and alternatives.
